Living in His Word p3
So… we are know saying yes and amen, I’m in His Word and understand whatever men do let them do their worst, “His truth endures to all generations.” But yet there are things I read and understand but sadly don’t see the manifestation o f them in and through my life, like Gideon “I’ve heard of the goodness of God but I fail to see it.” So what then undergirds this impotency? There are times where, even though I know His word… yes I know but the hesitation to step in is just too great.
So let’s look at this potential root.
Mark 10:21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”
I have found that, (what I will call a withholding spirit) hinders folk from stepping into the fullness of His glory for their lives. This is most easiest understood In the whole area of finance and money, as we read the verse above and when we read about the talents and when we’re told of our inability to serve God and money, understanding this, “Give and it will be given back to you pressed down shaken together and running over.” C.S. Lewis says this “Give a little more than you can afford.”
But it’s in many more areas of our faith that this is out worked, James speaks to limitations of faith directing us to understand we can be double minded, or double spirited.
James 1:8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
He goes on and states that, that man shouldn’t think he should receive anything from God!
So let us today assess whether we are withholding in any area of our lives and His word, let’s step into faith and belief as we all step into our tomorrows displaying the full glory of His presence in us.
