Trusting God

Fear, anxiety and frustration at times encapsulate us and it seems that we are all subject to these emotions from time to time, yet all of these ares subject to what we see as our perceived rights.

We have our plans and dreams the things we hope for and what we hang on to. Wow how easily that can all be taken away from us, are we now hankering for all that to be reinstated so life can resume?

As I think of Joseph in the bible, the dreamer, sharing his dreams and expectations with all and in an instant that was taken from him, are you feeling a little like that?

Even in a completely different environment he held onto God, he functioned in his gift and was a blessing to others even when being overlooked, or Esther when God had destined her for greatness, yet the journey threatened her very life.

What you see of yourself may be purposed in God to be worked out in a different way, what has been our norm may never be quite the same again, but doesn’t God know about this?

Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Can we let go of our expectation? Can we let go of what was our yesterday? Can we trust Him with our life? God ask Job this question:

Job 38:4 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.

I wonder at times what I’ve missed out on in God because I felt I knew better and walked a slightly different path? Isaiah say emphatically,

Isa 40:13 Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, Or as His counselor has taught Him?

So, as we continue to be locked down and shut up let’s give some thought to Joseph, Danial and many more in the Bible and Christian history that demands an action of faith to trust Him.
