The Cross

Christ and the cross demanded an unconditional surrender. We see that in Scripture as Jesus laid down His will for the will of the Father.
Luke 22:42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”
Unconditional commitment flows from unconditional love, for without them how can we ever, in all honesty take up our cross and walk in any sort of way that is reflective of Christ.
If Jesus’s commitment was conditional or temporal in any way, then how would He be reliable?
So as we look into ourselves do we ever think, “Have I ever put conditions on my commitment? Do I put expectations on people that I am not able to meet in myself?”
Today, understand that in the taking up of your cross you forfeit your will and your expectations to now being subject to His will and purposes. This is what it means to die to self and live for Him.
