Teach me Your Ways
I wonder how set in our ways we really are, we have established what we believe from what we understand and we accept what we find to be comfortable to us.
A problem I see in this statement is the word “We” and I wonder whether we are set in our ways, are they ours or His? I would like to think I am stuck in His ways. Listen to Psalm 86.
Psa 86:10-12
For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are God. Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore
It seems that the psalmist was desiring a constant revelation of God and a willingness to shift as He directs.
The thought around the word unite is the two edges of a sword coming together at the point, United.
Or in Hebrew it’s a door in a wall that unites both sides, Jesus said that He was the way the truth and the life, we need to be constantly aware of His purpose and make sure we aren’t mistakingly desire Him to conform to our way.
