If we are all honest, we have all made a few mistakes. But like all things, it’s not so much what happens to us that is the issue but how we respond to it. Listen to what the Bible says in James,
“Confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
Isn’t it funny how we love the second part of this verse and fail to understand the context and the power that is available through the principle found in the whole verse. If we are honest enough to own our past, and remember it is your past it is not your present nor is it you future, then healing will follow.
Here’s 4 thing to help you in your mistakes
- CATCH YOURSELF: Don’t hide it or deny it, own it!
- CONFESS: Be honest and open, “Sorry I messed up” tell someone.
- LEARN: I don’t need to do that again, learn the lesson for tomorrow
- MAKE NEW MISTAKES: Don’t repeat the old mistakes, but make new mistakes so you can keep on learning.
