The Temple

David desired to build a place for God to dwell, but God gave the privilege to his son Solomon who built the temple to the design given to his father. That temple was destroyed by the Babylonians but a new one was built, but sadly this temple was destroyed by the Romans and to this day a third temple lives in the hearts and minds of the Jewish nation a place for God to dwell a place that is sanctified and set apart, a place that is holy and sacred, dedicated to God for His praise and worship.

Sadly these temples were destroyed not because of the Babylonians or Romans but because of the Jews who failed to honour the God the temples were built for.

1 Cor 6:19-20

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

Listen, how vital it is for you and I to recognize and understand who we are and who it is that inhabits our being. Lets not be found to be like the Jews who failed to recognize the presence and suffered loss.

Today lets be found in worship, in awe of Him who saved us and loves us.
