The Olympics

What an amazing event, as we watched athletes who were proficient in their chosen disciplines, men and women who had trained to such a level of strength and proficiency.

The Bible tells us to be strong in the spirit. Luke 4:14 tells us that Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit… let’s not be deceived – it is no longer you or me but Christ who lives in us. Jesus never functioned in weakness but in power. So how do we walk in that power?

By doing what the gospel declares a Christian should do – to imitate Christ, to live out and believe every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. This is our call, this is our chosen discipline.

So church, practice and perform, train and compete, run the race to win the prize.
